About the role

The Retail Sales Associate position is an integral part of the Kitson LA team. Sales Associates are passionate about customer service and knowledgeable on the latest trends and designers, as well as up to date on product knowledge and benefits. Sales Associates must be brand ambassadors with a passion for going above and beyond to enhance the client experience. They are responsible for reaching and maintaining their personal sales goals while contributing to the overall success of the store and company culture. Sales Associates are responsible for courteous and professional interactions with all existing and potential customers.

Retail Sales Associate Job Responsibilities

  • Greet and acknowledge all customers
  • Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service in every area of the store
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales and KPI goals
  • Act as personal shopper within the store
  • Establish and maintain a client book
  • Assist with merchandising directives
  • Remove unwanted merchandise from fitting rooms
  • Review merchandise on the selling floor and maintain proper quantities and sizes of each item
  • Fold, straighten, fill-in, and ensure correct placement of merchandise throughout the day
  • Monitor and maintain visual merchandising standards daily
  • Comply with loss prevention guidelines and deter shoplifting by providing excellent customer service
  • Keep cash wrap neat, organized and maintained with all supplies
  • Answer the phone and direct calls to the appropriate person
  • Communicate with management on operational issues as they arise
  • Follow all standard operating procedures related to POS systems and inventory processing
  • Accurately process all POS transactions and capture customer information
  • Assist, when necessary, with operational and back of house activities

  • Passionate about customer service, styling and product
  • Able to drive personal business while working as a team
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures of the store
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Consistency with clienteling

Experience Preferred

  • 1-3 years in retail/service industry
  • Cash handling/cashier experience preferred

Minimum Educational Level

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Requirements of the Job

  • Operate point of sale software
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Bend and stretch to stock shelves
  • Available to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as determined by management based on the needs of the business
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
